Tour de Georgia Confirmed

It appears that the 2006 Tour de Georgia is a go:

Medalist Sports confirmed today that the Union Cycliste International (UCI), the world governing body for the sport of cycling, has approved Tuesday, April 18 – Sunday, April 23 as the dates for the 2006 Tour de Georgia, and has elevated the event rating from a 2.1 to its top Hors Classe (2.HC) rating, the highest outside of Europe. This makes the Tour de Georgia the only HC stage race in North America.

. . .

The official route for the 2006 Tour de Georgia is under development and an announcement of the route, host cities and initial participating ProTour teams is expected in later this fall. Once the route is announced, the event website will be refreshed with information for spectators to make travel plans.
